Oracle Policy
Price sources, staleness and the closed-market problem.
The closed-market problem
Crypto trades continuously. Equity markets do not. A reserve holding both has periods where part of its NAV is a stale figure from a closed market, and any system that consumes NAV — claim value, lending health factors — inherits that staleness.
Candidate policies
- Last-close pricing for equity legs with an explicit staleness label in the interface
- Wider collateral haircuts on equity legs during closed hours
- Suspension of NAV-dependent actions outside a defined window
