Why this exists

The protocol earns from turnover, not direction.

Every trade routed through protocol venues pays a fee. The fee does not stay as revenue: it is forwarded to the reserve engine, converted into basket assets and deposited in the Stockpile. A buy and a sell of the same size contribute identically, which is why the protocol has no need for the price to go up.
